Hope you have had a rejuvenating Easter Sunday! What a beautiful day!
In the sermon on "Resurrecting Your Faith", I mentioned seven chapters in the New Testament which record the exciting details of the resurrection of Christ. I believe that our personal faith is strengthened and nourished by reading the Word for ourselves.
And so, I extended an enthusiastic challenge for each of us to read one resurrection chapter per day for the next week. I can affirm that in both in person services today there was a resounding "yes!"
Here are the seven chapters in the order they appear in Scripture: Matthew 28, Mark 16, Luke 24, John 20,21, Acts 1, and 1 Corinthians 15. Feel free to read them in any order you like, but I encourage you to complete all seven chapters by next Sunday.
If you read Luke 24:13-35, you will be prepared for next Sunday's message on the wonderful story of the two on the Road to Emmaus.
Pascal the French philosopher and mathematician said, "People are generally better persuaded by reasons they themselves have discovered than by those which have been handed to them."
I pray this week that we will make fresh discoveries of Jesus Christ which will resurrect our faith.
God bless you and Happy Easter!
